We are pleased to confirm that we have commenced a phased reopening of Somerset House, following the fire on 17 August.

The Lore of LOVERBOY exhibition is now open.

Somerset House presents the first exhibition on international fashion powerhouse Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, which celebrates 10 years of club to catwalk in 2024.

Infectiously joyful...looking back on a decade of tartan, trash, animalism, anarchy, paganism and punk

The Guardian

One of Somerset House Studios’ original residents - whose studio is still based within Somerset House’s community of artists, makers and thinkers - LOVERBOY has been lauded for radically ripping up the fashion rulebook. Loved by the likes of Harry Styles and Tilda Swinton, LOVERBOY transcends disciplinary boundaries across art, design and music.

From the first rush of inspiration to the skill and craftmanship of the atelier, culminating with the spectacle of a fashion show, the exhibition will offer a behind-the-scenes look into building a fashion business from scratch, focusing on the artistry that lies behind every process. Through a series of sensorially led spaces rendered in LOVERBOY’s signature style, archival artefacts and newly commissioned works will be brought together in a maximalist, immersive show to provide an accessible and engaging insight into creative production and industry.

The exhibition has been co-curated by Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, Jonathan Faiers, Bunny Kinney and Somerset House. The exhibition designer is David Curtis-Ring.
