Experimenting with the production and editing tools to hand, six artists live stream a performance from home, responding to the provocation I Should Be Doing Something Else Right Now. A series of quick fire commissions from Studios artists exploring work, play and process.
Borrowing its name from the title of a work by Studios resident Vivienne Griffin, the artist opened the series with I LEAF, a post-apocalyptic techno-fantasy.
The exhibition looked at the power in changing oneself; playing with the superficiality of self-obsession through self-reflection, whilst also looking towards it as a powerful tool, as a solution. In this universal moment of social change and pause, these live commissions ask us to carve out a space to engage more deeply.
So far the artists Vivienne Griffin, Juliana Huxtable, Alan Warburton and Sonya Dyer have responded to the provocation. We'll be announcing the next artists in the coming weeks.
