During this workshop, Emily will show you how to make a woven darn on your knitwear, allowing you to repair cuffs, edges and holes. Following this, you will have the opportunity to ask Emily questions. This workshop is suitable for beginners and is free to attend.
Materials Required:
- A knitwear piece with a hole
- Threads or yarns of a similar weight or a little lighter to the yarn used in the piece you are mending
- A darning needle – a selection may be best if you're unsure. It's best to use a needle with an eye that matches the thickness of your yarn. Choose a thicker needle for chunky knits, and a thinner one for finer knits.
- A pair of scissors
- A darning disc, darning mushroom or small embroidery hoop (or something to tension the work on)
