Gail Rebuck is a Director of Penguin Random House, after being Chair and Chief Executive of Random House for over 20 years and she sits on the General Management Committee of its parent company, international media group Bertelsmann where she chairs the UK Content Alliance. She is also currently Senior Independent Director for the Guardian Media Group and recently stepped down from her role as Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the Royal College of Art. She became a Labour peer in 2014 and is a member of the House of Lords Select Committee on Communications and Digital. She founded the book charity World Book Day and Quick Reads for adult literacy.
