Chef Rishim Sachdeva brings Café Petiole, a new (mostly) vegan café to Somerset House.
Renowned for his critically acclaimed Tendril restaurant in Mayfair, chef Rishim Sachdeva launches a new culinary venture with Café Petiole, a plant-first café. Situated just off the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, the café offers a diverse menu throughout the day, catering to both grab-and-go and dine-in experiences.
The menu at Café Petiole is curated by founder and chef Rishim, with Tendril’s talented head of pastry Tarryn Williams supporting on the baked goods and desserts. The menu showcases grab-and-go breakfast items like 'Toasted banana bread with agave' to plant-first lunch options such as 'Blue corn tostadas, with smoked artichoke & lime puree'. Don't miss out on Rishim's famed 'Tendril Tiramisu', which is available for takeout for the first time.
Visitors can anticipate other tantalizing options such as 'Salted piquillo peppers with coriander salsa & ancho chilli dressing', 'Grilled aubergine sabich with tabbouleh' and 'Lemon & poppy seed cake with black pepper curd'.
Café Petiole also boasts an all-vegan drinks list featuring kombucha and low-intervention European wines on tap, sourced from esteemed suppliers like Basket Press, L.A. Brewery, and Graft and Sustainable Wines.
Beyond these culinary delights, Café Petiole is introducing a range of 'home condiments', including 'Chilli garlic', 'White bean spread', and the popular 'Chinatown soy glaze', available for purchase exclusively from the café.
For the interiors, chef Rishim has collaborated with London & Milan based interior design studio DUELLE, drawing inspiration from European travels to create a timeless ambiance reflective of an artist's café.
