Grounding Practice: Keiken

04 Apr 2022

A practice sharing session and in conversation with Studios residents Keiken, an artist collective, and Michelle Williams Gamaker.

In a session filmed from Somerset House, Keiken co-founders Hana Omori, Tanya Cruz and Isabel Ramos talk through the ideas and experience at the core of their cross-dimensional practice, unpacking the processes that help form their creation of speculative and immersive worlds – hybrid spaces that merge the physical with the digital.

Through examples across various mediums spanning filmmaking, gaming, installation, Extended Reality (XR), and performance, the collective share how they utilise some of these tools to simulate new structures and test-drive possible futures.
